The topic of climate change continues to dominate both the international and domestic political agenda. In this fast-changing area, states compete for "first-mover" status in sustainability programs while the federal government attacks the "greenhouse gas" problem with new regulations and new legislation. Private enterprise competes for hearts and minds through "green advertising," and the financial community faces new demands in securities disclosure. This non-technical program will address developments in the law of climate change and sustainability, including attempts to develop comprehensive federal legislation, EPA's regulatory initiatives, international efforts, and impacts on other areas of the law.
