Jason A. Leckerman focuses on antitrust, product liability, pharmaceutical, and consumer fraud litigation and regularly counsels clients on antitrust compliance and risk. In addition, he assists private and public companies in obtaining clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

At Ballard Spahr, Mr. Leckerman is Parter-in-charge of the Philadelphia Hiring Committee, Partner-in-charge of the litigation mentoring program, and is Partner-in-charge of the United Way Campaign.

Representative Matters  

  • Defends a pharmaceutical manufacturer in antitrust litigations in Pennsylvania federal court involving allegations of monopolization related to citizen petitions filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
  • Defends a pharmaceutical manufacturer in antitrust litigations in Pennsylvania federal court involving allegations of monopolization related to patent litigations 
  • Defends an importer of pipe fittings in antitrust litigations in New Jersey federal court involving allegations of price-fixing 
  • Defended a media company in an antitrust claim in Colorado state court
  • Represented a plaintiff chemical manufacturer in an antitrust claim in Delaware federal court
  • Represents a plaintiff pharmaceutical manufacturer in an Lanham Act claim in Pennsylvania federal court 
  • Counsels a hydro-electric power company on antitrust issues involving its ownership structure 
  • Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in an investigation into marketing and promotional practices
  • Represents a chemical manufacturer in numerous product, toxic tort, and premises liability claims in Pennsylvania state court
  • Defended a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a private product liability arbitration
  • Defended title insurance companies from consumer class actions in Pennsylvania state and federal court

Pro Bono Experience

Mr. Leckerman maintains an active pro bono practice. He spends considerable time representing asylum applicants and supervising junior lawyers in asylum proceedings. He has represented clients in many other areas, including civil forfeiture cases and Social Security disability claims. Mr. Leckerman also participated in advising the committee responsible for creating the Ethics Commission of the City of Philadelphia.
