Douglas Y. Christian is a partner in the Litigation Department, Practice Leader of the Insurance Group, and a member of the Consumer Financial Services Group. He concentrates his practice in insurance and corporate litigation, with an emphasis in the insurance coverage, receivership, reinsurance, and regulation fields.
Mr. Christian's representative clients have included Fortune 500 and other international companies, including insurance companies, agents, and brokers. He has litigated several high-profile disputes involving insurance company insolvencies, concentrating on disputes arising in the Reliance, Legion, Villanova, and PHICO liquidations. He has significant experience in other insurance-related areas, including reinsurance and coverage matters relating to environmental clean-up costs, and claims under commercial general liability, fidelity, directors' and officers', and numerous other types of policies. In addition to his insurance clients, Mr. Christian has represented, on a national basis, major trucking, steel, oil, chemical, banking, and gas transmission companies in state and federal courts.
