Ballard Spahr has earned Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for its success in providing professional opportunities and leadership roles for women attorneys. The firm is among a select group of law firms to earn the certification.
With this certification, WILEF recognizes large law firms that consistently reward high-achieving women with management positions and other advancement opportunities. Ballard Spahr joins other honorees, firms in which female attorneys represent at least 10 percent of firm chairs or office managing partners, comprise 25 percent or more of practice leaders or department heads, and account for at least 20 percent of equity partners.
“We are thrilled to have earned the Forum’s Gold Standard Certification,” said Lynn E. Rzonca, the co-head of the firm’s Ballard Women affinity group. “This latest recognition for Ballard Spahr validates what we have always known: Ballard is a great place for women lawyers to work, grow, and advance.”
Ballard Spahr’s deep and longstanding commitment to women’s initiatives has been recognized by organizations such as the National Association for Female Executives, Flex-Time Lawyers, and Multicultural Law magazine. The firm supports several affinity groups that provide community and mentoring. The Ballard Women group sponsors events for women clients and prospective clients, develops programs to train and mentor women attorneys, and supports women attorneys seeking leadership positions both within and outside the firm. It also helps women attorneys build professional networks and grow as counselors and civic leaders. The Female Non-Partner Lawyers Group provides opportunities for networking, mentoring, and professional development.
