Lila Shapiro-Cyr is a partner in the Real Estate Department and a member of the Housing, Real Estate Development, Real Estate Leasing, and Transactional Finance Groups.

Ms. Shapiro-Cyr represents clients in connection with real estate acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing. Her clients include owners and developers of commercial real estate properties. Her practice focuses on shopping center and urban development, and she is a member of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore's Business and Economic Development Committee. Ms. Shapiro-Cyr also has significant experience in complex mixed-finance affordable housing, representing a variety of public-housing authorities in ongoing redevelopment efforts.

Pro Bono Experience

Ms. Shapiro-Cyr represented the Sisters Academy of Baltimore in the acquisition of its existing school building. The Sisters Academy is a Catholic, community-centered middle school that educates girls of different races, ethnic groups, and religions from families of limited economic means, particularly those in southwest Baltimore.

Along with other members of the Ballard Spahr Housing Group, Ms. Shapiro-Cyr represented the Housing Authority of New Orleans in connection with post-hurricane-related needs and redevelopment activities after Hurricane Katrina.

Ms. Shapiro-Cyr serves on the Acting Board of Advisors for the Maryland Public Interest Law Project and on the Boards for Harbor City Services Inc. and Chesapeake Search Dogs.
