Sumner C. Rosenberg is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department and Managing Partner of Ballard Spahr's Atlanta office. He is a member of the Trademark and Copyright Group, the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, and the electrical and communications technology and mechanical practice teams in the Patents Group.
Mr. Rosenberg's patent practice focuses on computer software and hardware. In addition to patent prosecution, he has extensive experience in patent counseling, licensing, and litigation. He also has significant trademark experience, including handling worldwide protection of numerous well-known trademarks.
Mr. Rosenberg's first law position was with a major Atlanta law firm, where he started that firm's intellectual property practice. Before entering law, he worked in the space program for five years, first doing programming for the Apollo and Lunar Lander guidance computers in the early moon missions, and then systems design work for the Space Shuttle computer system.
