Stanley W. Parry is a partner in the Litigation Department and concentrates his practice in commercial litigation. His practice encompasses real estate, administrative and regulatory matters, eminent domain, construction, passenger rail infrastructure, insurance, white-collar criminal defense, and business entity member disputes. For the past 30 years, Mr. Parry has been a trial attorney. He was a successful prosecutor for both the Clark County District Attorney and the U.S. Department of Justice; at the DOJ, he prosecuted a number of high-profile federal criminal cases, including trials involving public corruption, racketeering, tax fraud, and loansharking.

Mr. Parry has developed proficiency in representing companies in eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases, bid protests involving government contracts, contractor license disputes, construction contract disputes, entitlements for zoning and land use approvals, and business disputes involving noncompete agreements, trade secret cases, and partnership-related disputes.

Mr. Parry was the chairman of the City of Las Vegas Ethics Review Board from 1992 to 1995. He was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Organized Crime Strike Force, from 1983 to 1989. He was a deputy district attorney in Clark County from 1977 to 1983 and served as legal advisor to the Clark County Planning Commission from 1980 to 1983.

Representative Matters

• Represented an international syndicate of banks and defeated an attempt to prevent foreclosure on a $500 million shopping center
• Represented a casino charged with fraud and money laundering in criminal, administrative, and civil proceedings; we were able to save the casino license, prevent prosecution, and avoid civil litigation
• Represented a major highway contractor in a public bidding dispute involving a $100 million construction project; we were able to obtain a judicial order compelling the government entity to award the bid to the contractor after the government had awarded the contract to a competitor
• Obtained a multimillion-dollar award when the State of Nevada blocked his client's access to a highway
• Successfully represented a major utility company in its taking of right of way for major transmissions easements in highly sensitive parts of the community
• Successfully represented private property owners in condemnation cases involving highway right of way and redevelopment
• Obtained a multimillion-dollar settlement in a partnership and entity dispute through the use of injunction and receiverships action
• Negotiated a favorable settlement for an Italian winery involving an international multimillion-dollar contract dispute
• Obtained a favorable multimillion-dollar settlement for a minority shareholder through a shareholder's divertive action against a major Las Vegas casino owner
• Obtained several multimillion-dollar awards in personal injury cases
• Obtained a judgment for indemnity and ultimate settlement that allowed a major government contractor to avoid a multimillion-dollar judgment and obtain all its attorney fees
• Successfully represented major developers, contractors, and subcontractors in construction disputes, including obtaining several multimillion-dollar arbitration awards
