Michael T. Kersten is of counsel in the Public Finance Department and a member of the Housing, Transactional Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Health Care Groups, as well as the Municipal Recovery Initiative. In addition to representing lenders in the areas of commercial and real estate finance, he acts as underwriter's counsel, credit bank counsel, and bond counsel in tax-exempt and taxable bond financings.

Mr. Kersten served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Maryland, and during his tenure represented the Department of Housing and Community Development in connection with its bond-financed and state-funded multifamily loan programs.
