John G. Kerkorian

John G. Kerkorian is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the Commercial Litigation, Consumer Financial Services, and Labor and Employment Groups.

Mr. Kerkorian has wide-ranging civil litigation experience, with emphasis on disputes involving contract breaches, business torts, commercial acquisitions and investments, real estate, partnership matters, trade secret misappropriation, and business terminations. In addition, Mr. Kerkorian regularly handles employment-related disputes involving restrictive covenants, harassment, and discrimination.

Before joining a law firm, Mr. Kerkorian served as General Counsel for ServiceWare Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVCW).

Representative Matters

• Obtained dismissal for an Arizona municipality in a case that attacked the city's multimillion-dollar contract to deliver reclaimed water to an Arizona ski resort for snowmaking purposes; the case alleged, among other things, violations of the Arizona Administrative Code and common law nuisance
• Obtained summary judgment in favor of a Scottsdale medical group in an action brought by a former employee under the Americans With Disabilities Act
• Obtained a preliminary injunction for a medical-practice client that prevented a former physician/employee of the practice from competing within a geographically restricted area; the physician/employee appealed the court's ruling to the Arizona Court of Appeals, which affirmed the preliminary injunction granted for Mr. Kerkorian's client
• Obtained summary judgment for an insurance agency in a trade-secret misappropriation action pending in the Maricopa County Superior Court

Mr. Kerkorian acts as General Counsel for the Grand Canyon State Games, an Olympic-style amateur athletic competition held throughout Arizona. He also serves on the Finance Council of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Phoenix.
