Craig C. Hoffman is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Accounting and Professional Liability, Commercial Litigation, Consumer Class Action Litigation, Environment and Natural Resources, and Securities Litigation Groups. Mr. Hoffman focuses his practice on class actions, contract disputes, and securities litigation. He handles all aspects of discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings and motions, and presenting oral arguments in court.
Representative Matters
- Successfully briefed and argued for decertification of the existing class and opposed subsequent motion for class certification
- Obtained a favorable settlement for a satellite television company in a putative class action after the judge reviewed our opposition to motion for class certification
- Represented a satellite television company in suits brought by a minority investor seeking to halt various transactions, obtaining a dismissal in part and resolving remaining claims on the eve of trial
- Obtained a temporary restraining order for an electronic-content delivery provider prohibiting one of its competitors from hiring our client's key personnel; a favorable settlement was reached before issuance of a preliminary injunction
- Represented a health care provider and certain of its former executives in a securities class action, derivative case, and an SEC investigation relating to its disclosure of Medicare outlier payments
- Represented a health care provider in an SEC investigation relating to an allegation of accounting fraud regarding the company's practice of reserving accounts receivable
