Ballard Spahr opened its second California office in 2010 with the addition of a talented group of attorneys from a boutique litigation firm in San Diego. The move expanded our West Coast presence and bolstered our formidable national litigation practice.
Our San Diego attorneys handle white collar defense, regulatory enforcement, and complex litigation, including federal grand jury and Securities and Exchange Commission probes and claims of fraud, tax evasion, and other financial crimes. They help clients develop, implement, and audit compliance policies; conduct internal investigations; and advise on corporate governance matters. They also are experienced in class actions, receiverships, and other complex civil litigation.
Pro bono service is a hallmark of the firm, and the San Diego attorneys devote numerous hours to pro bono cases every year. Pro bono efforts by attorneys and staff in this office have included representing nonprofit children's organizations in successful efforts to enhance pediatric testing requirements and work involving employment and election law.
