Philadelphia is the founding city of Ballard Spahr and is home to its largest office, with attorneys representing clients in litigation, business and finance, public finance, real estate, and intellectual property.
Our size ranks us as one of Philadelphia's largest law firms, and our representation of such iconic clients as the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, and Philadelphia Orchestra, along with every major university in the region, confirms our stature as one of the city's top law firms.
Nationally, our attorneys represent major financial institutions, developers, investors, and leading companies in the pharmaceutical, cable, chemical, manufacturing, and waste and environmental services industries.
Pro bono service is a hallmark of the firm, and the Philadelphia attorneys devote thousands of hours to pro bono cases every year. Our attorneys also play an active role in the region's business and civic life, serving in leadership positions with organizations that assist the needy and promote culture, education, justice, and business and neighborhood development throughout Greater Philadelphia.
Attorneys and staff provide financial and service support to many worthy causes, most notably a program that brings elementary school students to our office each week for one-on-one reading help. In partnership with the National Constitution Center, we support a landmark pipeline program at Constitution High School, an inner-city school for students interested in civics and careers in law.
Peter Bulkley, Office Administrator
Each of Ballard Spahr's 13 offices uniquely reflects the practices of its attorneys and the clients they serve, its market and industry focus, and the city it calls home. More than individual dots on a map, these offices are part of an interlocking whole that hums with the energy of attorneys working together and drawing on their collective experience for clients around the world.
