Ballard Spahr has been named one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC), the country's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality.

The recognition is based on Ballard Spahr's perfect rating in the HRC's 2010 edition of the Corporate Equality Index, which measures organizational commitment to LGBT employees and their families.

"We are honored to receive this recognition of our commitment to LGBT equality from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation," said Virginia G. Essandoh, Director of Diversity. "The wide-ranging experience and backgrounds of our lawyers make us a better firm, and we strive to support this diversity wherever possible."

The rankings are based on factors including the implementation of nondiscrimination policies, diversity training, domestic partner and transgender-inclusive benefits, LGBT employee groups, and support of LGBT community events or organizations.
