In a series of articles highlighting local attorneys' outstanding service to those who can't afford legal costs, The Philadelphia Lawyer spotlights Ballard Spahr's Aisha M. Barbour. Ms. Barbour and SeniorLAW Center staff attorney Brian Krase represented Eloise, a 67-year-old North Philadelphia woman, in hearings to determine custody of her great-grandson, whose mother's re-emergence in his life and petition for custody had a detrimental effect on the 9-year-old. Ms. Barbour's donated services helped Eloise regain sole legal and primary physical custody of the boy, who has since enjoyed a healthy and stable home life.
