In 2009, Congress and the DOL expanded the FMLA, including overhauling regulations and introducing new military family leave benefits. In addition, Congress expanded the rights of individuals with disabilities through the ADA Amendments Act, for which the EEOC has issued proposed regulations. Because the FMLA and the ADA present complex compliance issues for employers, we will explore these issues in light of the recent changes.
